The Photographer
Professional photographer for over 30 years, Laurent Gibeault
knows how to capture the great moments of your life.
Here is his vision of photography:
When I discovered photography, curiosity pushed me right away to
experiment and to discover more about this marvelous tool of communication.
To me, it was extraordinary to be able to express myself with the image to create,
and not only with words.
" The silence of a picture, when we stop to look at it, gives you more feelings
and emotions than the noise of the spoken word trying to impose it's ideas. "
This is a marvelous way to express myself and I love this art with a passion.
To my personal view, the most beautiful challenge is to photograph people...
To capture their real personality, the depth of their projects and hopes,
the beauty of their differences and the encounter of a unique person; this is my goal.
To fall in love with the art of photography and make it an ally for life, isn't it like a
wedding?
When a man and a woman fall in love, they want to get together, to express this union,
to tell it to people and celebrate it.
Their wedding becomes the testimony of what they are living and my mission
is to express it with images that recall their joy, their tenderness, the importance
of the loved one, and their happiness. This is what I tell them at our first encounter.
I want to personalize the photos that we will make together and, " by the creation process,
the photos will not only resemble your exterior appearance, but also your internal beauty ".
People tend to tell me they want nice photos of themselves. But what is a nice photo?
Here is my answer: " A nice portrait is one that will show the truth of what you are,
within the dimension of your projects. For example, a wedding anniversary portrait
will show all the attachment, the mutual affection and the continuity of your feelings.
A portrait of a baby with the mother will express joy, tenderness, the strong desire
to sustain and care, and to wonder at the beauty of life ".
Artistic portrait photography is an open door on time: We can go through and be delighted
at the best moments of our life and we can preserve them so that the memories will never fade.
